My obsession with tea

So I heres a few pictures of the set up for my December assessment, these include both workshops, constructed textile and print.

This is how I chose to set up my work for assessment, I wanted to put the pieces I had created into some sort of context, by adding the stand I was able to put enphasis on my favourite pieces; the felted teapot with spiral handle and the tea towel hanging from the drawer, I think overall it is effective.

This teapot is made from felt and the hand is cane wrapped with felt. This was the most time consuming piece and in turn became my final piece for construsted textiles.

Here is a closer picture of the tea towel, the picture quality is not great but you can see the different teapot and teacup designs I think it is the most successful out of all the teatowels I produced.

Another felted teapot, this was the first attempt, this one has no handle but I quite like it without one.

These are just a few printed paper designs just to try out different ideas, to see which colours work best together.

The brief for print was to make a tea towel related to your chosen object, since my project revolves around teapots and teacups I needed to make as many different teapot designs and make them suit the brief. These are the designs I came up with.

Not over keen on these frames but they were purposely to give the impression of a home, just impersonal but relevent. The patchwork teapot I made using modroc and scraps of material, its sufficient for it's purpose, I got to a point where I really wanted to start ceramics but this was as close to ceramics as I could get at the time.
